Welcome to The Henderson

A relaxed Lake Texoma retreat with space to spread out, three king bedrooms, and easy access to the water. Set on a private one-acre property near Highport Marina and Cambridge Shores Boat Ramp, it’s an ideal home base for lake days, fishing trips, and weekend getaways.

The Henderson is named for Chad’s family, whose roots in the Red River and Lake Texoma region go back generations. Long before Lake Texoma was created, his great-grandfather operated a ferry crossing on the Red River, transporting people, cattle, and supplies between Texas and Oklahoma. When the lake was formed in the 1940s, much of the Henderson family land in the area was flooded—though a nearby road still carries the family name today.

Designed for comfort and connection, the home offers open spaces where guests can gather, cook together, and unwind after long days on the lake.

This easygoing Lake Texoma retreat blends relaxed modern Western touches with open-concept living and room sizes that work just as well for families as for girls’ trips and fishing or hunting weekends.

You’ll notice a few subtle nods to the area and the Henderson family’s roots throughout the home. Chad’s father was a rancher, and several pieces throughout the home reflect that heritage—from Western artwork and an antique banjo in the dining room to a mounted pheasant and a record-holding fish caught by his dad in Lake Texoma.

The primary suite offers a little extra comfort after long days outside, with a large walk-in shower and heated floors that feel especially comforting in the cooler months. Two additional king bedrooms provide guests with their own space, while the kitchen, dining, and living areas flow naturally outdoors for casual meals, game nights, and evenings under the stars.

Located only about one hour from Dallas via US-75 or the Dallas North Tollway and SH-289, The Henderson is closer and easier to reach than many Oklahoma/North Texas lake destinations—making it ideal for quick weekend getaways, last-minute trips, and spontaneous lake days.

Spend your days boating, fishing for striped bass, paddleboarding, or cruising the lake at sunset. Nearby marinas offer tritoon and paddleboard rentals, while Island View Park provides scenic shoreline access.

Many guests visit Lake Texoma specifically for striped bass fishing, one of the lake’s most popular draws.

For hiking and wildlife viewing, Eisenhower State Park and Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge offer beautiful trails, open skies, and sweeping lake views—making this Lake Texoma lake house ideal for families, couples, and group getaways.

Boating & Lake Access
Cambridge Shores Boat Ramp is just minutes away at 2820 Georgetown Road, making it easy for guests bringing boats or jet skis to get on the water quickly. The ramp provides convenient access to Lake Texoma, and the property offers ample space for boat and trailer parking on the gated one-acre lot.

Guests who prefer to explore on foot can also reach the lake shoreline with a short walk from the house.
Additional marinas nearby, including Highport Marina, offer boat rentals, fuel, and lakeside dining.

• The indoor fireplace is decorative only and features flameless candles for ambiance
• Coffee, basic pantry items, and household essentials are provided to get you started
• Firewood is available upon request for an additional fee
• Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request, subject to availability

House Rules & Important Information

• Maximum occupancy: 8 guests
• No parties or events
• No pets
• No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property
• Quiet hours: 11:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
• Exterior security cameras are installed at entrances only for safety and property protection

Damage Protection
Each stay includes damage protection coverage for added peace of mind.

A full short-term rental agreement will be sent after booking and must be signed prior to check-in.
For all reservations, a $300 refundable damage deposit hold will be authorized on the card on file prior to arrival. This is only a temporary hold and not a charge. After checkout, it will be released provided the home is left in good condition and there are no missing items, excessive cleaning needs, smoking, unauthorized guests, or other house rule violations.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $75.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges (less $75.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
